NHS Pension Review Scheme
Will I have an NHS Pension, and how much will it be?
Locum doctors will often have several sources of NHS income as well as private income.
This can make the administration surrounding their NHS pensions burdensome.
However if these matters are not dealt with properly locums can find they have incomplete pension records and their final NHS pension may be lower than it should be.
If you are a Freelance GP Locum
You must download and complete 2 forms which are called “Freelance GP Locum A” and “Freelance GP Locum B”
If you are a salaried GP
Then you need a “Type 2 form” if you are surgery based, a long-term fee-based surgery GP who is not a GP provider and GPs who solely perform out of hours.
If you are fee-based
GPs completing fee-based or “ad hoc “work or locums doing out of hours will have to complete form “GP solo”.
